and is a chelator.  Essential for energy production in the brain.  Helps prevent
constipation
.  Repels insectsFever and physical exercise uses a lot of B-1.  Alcohol destroys all B vitamins especially B-1. Caffeine, sugar, antacids, and aspirin destroy B-1.  One quart of coffee in 3 hours destroys most of the body's B-1.  Should be taken with B2, B5,

, B12, folic acid and manganese for best utilization.  Deficiency of thiamin and folate leads to DNA changes that have been correlated with cancer.  No known toxicity
