SUGAR

The per capita consumption of Sugar (sucrose) in the United States is about 125 grams per day.  Each 125 grams when digested becomes 66 grams of glucose and 66 grams of fructose.  Add to this the fructose from fruit and honey, the average daily intake becomes 74 grams per day.  The fructose undergoes reactions in the body leading to acetate, which is then in part converted to cholesterol. (17)  Tests have shown a direct correlation between the amount of sugar eaten and the level of cholesterol in the blood.  There is also a positive correlation between dietary sugar and breast cancerInsulin has an effect similar to estrogen and
