Dear permissionedmedia.com, et al,

Not that I expect you to care, and not that you aren't already aware of =
the fact, but you are only one miniscule ethical step above the virus =
writers. Of course, I'm being overly complimentary and stretching the =
truth to the limit when I say that. It would tickle me pink if the =
virus writers targeted you as you both target innocent users of the =
Internet. Does your mother know what you do for a living? When it's =
career day at your kid's school, do you go and tell them you're a scam =
artist and brag that at least you technically don't write virus =
programs, or do you hide at home in shame with lights out and curtains =
drawn?

Fortunately, word is beginning to get out.
http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/friend.htm
http://www.f-secure.com/v-descs/friendgr.shtml
...etc.

In a perfect world people like you would be... Well, in a perfect world =
there wouldn't be people like you, would there? In a less than perfect, =
but rather nice world people like you would be in prison (or better yet, =
stillborn). No, that wouldn't do - in US prisons you would still have =
access to the Internet. For all I know, you're clandestinely operating =
from prison. (I guess going door to door, scamming the elderly out of =
their life savings wasn't so foolproof after all.) Isn't the Internet =
great?

Thank you for once again reminding people that they don't live in a =
perfect world, or even a less than perfect, but rather nice one. It =
does people good to at times have their faces stomped down into the mud =
as punishment for their naivete. It builds character. They may =
ocassionally write an ineffectual letter like this one, but that won't =
affect your bottom line, will it?=20
